July 19-25

I wish my POTD could be something more interesting than my kids every single day.  I guess when you are a SAHM...you kind of run out of things to "document".  This is it people.  This is my life.  Here we go...
Holy Monday...that's all I can say.  I think this kid had about 5 meltdowns before 9:00am.  I've been struggling with the "terrible two's" lately.  Here is more on this topic. UGH.
Sydney has decided she now wants to take it to the next level...literally.  This girl is a stair climber!  She's dabbled a little, but never actually took off.  Today I looked over and she was on the 3rd or 4th step.  Cute little video here.  {ok, cute to me...probably extremely boring for you!}
We have discovered that Wednesday nights are kids night at our local Buffalo Wild Wings.  Fantastic!  My kids can throw food, scream, run around {not that I would EVER let them} but people don't stare because everyone elses kids are doing the same thing.  This is Bryce showing me his airplane that the balloon guy made him.
Why does my kid have an obsession with toothbrushes, and more importantly...toothpaste?  I am constantly finding him in the bathroom eating toothpaste?  He smuggles it downstairs when I'm not looking, then leaves it all over the house.  LOVE when Sydney finds it and she eats it too.  I need more baby gates.
Ohhhh...where to begin?  Ok, I changed out the diaper genie refill and for some reason Bryce found this blue piece of plastic fascinating.  He called it a headband and wore it all night.  Then he carried the diaper bag around and kept putting his hand on his hip???  What???  When I'm not wanting to drop him off at the nearest fire department, this kid makes me laugh so hard!
.
I hate running.  I especially hate running in 87 degree weather with 100% humidity and mosquitos sucking the life out of me.  The countown is around 49 days or so until Dan and I (along with the rest of the Peterson families) run 8 miles around Mackinac Island.  I'm still maxing out at 2 miles, but so-help-me, I'm going to run 8 miles.
In an effort to take more pictures of people other than my kids...here is my Lake Michigan self portrait.  We drove out to the beach for the day and I actually went in the water.  It has probably been about 12 years since I've swam in Lake Michigan and I only live 1/2 hour away.  Crazy?  It was such a beautiful day and the kids had a blast!

Head on over to The Mom Creative to check out more Project Life Photos.

July 12 - 18

Big day around here.  Bryce pooped on the potty!!!  Here he is holding his new bribe reward.  The crazy thing is...we haven't started potty training yet?  He is 26 months, and shows NO interest in the potty on most days.  Today however, I asked him if he would like to sit on it, and the kid poops??  He has yet to pee on the darn thing.  We'll see?
{and yes, he still has a paci...one thing at a time people!!}
Dan and I have been trying to run after he gets home from work, which means dinner keeps getting pushed later and later.  I'm actually enjoying this new routine because we can eat in peace with the kids in bed.  aaaahhhh :)
This guy LOVES my iPod.  He usually just plays it with no ear buds and puts it right up to his ear.  Today I was really sick of listening to "Boom Boom Pow" so I gave him the ear buds and it was a little piece of heaven!  He thought he was so cool bopping around the house.
Here is one of the eight thousand times Bryce escapes from the house.  He has every door figured out.  {I should really start child proofing this house.}  I just rolled with it and let them play.  Whatever.
Finally got around to taking some pictures of our new patio. { click here to see more!}

Saturday- Grandpa Doc's Funeral :(  No pictures, but I saved the program from the service to put in my Project Life Album.
Would you believe...this kid actually pooped on the potty again?  Yes, I am rewarding him with toys and ice cream!  If that means I don't have 2 kids in diapers, I will give that kid crisp $20 bills everytime he takes a crap!

July 5 - July 11

Syd started getting 4 new teeth on top all at once.  Needless to say, she has been extra enjoyable to be around lately!
September is coming quickly, so Dan and I decided if there is any way we are going to attempt to run the Mackinac race, we should really start running.  We only made it about a mile, but in our defense, it was the hottest day I've ever experienced.
We were out of EVERYTHING, so I did a huge shopping trip by myself.  It was a little piece of heaven.  I could never have gotten this done with 2 kids with me.
Seriously?  Who is watching this girl?  She looks like she got in a fight.  Oh wait...that would be me.  I guess I should start watching her a little more closely since she is pulling up on everything these days.  Whoops!

Bryce is really getting good with my camera.  He can actually get a real subject on the screen and snap a picture.  Ok, there were about 13 pictures of his feet and his crotch, but this one did sort of turn out! :)

We went to Amy & Vince's house for dinner on Saturday and the kids had a blast.  Asa payed for all the kids to get something from the ice cream truck and they were a sticky, dirty mess.  We threw the little ones in the tub to play and wash off.
Sunday was gorgeous, so we took a drive out to Holland for the afternoon.  We stopped by Aunt Daryl and Uncle Gary's marina to say hi and ended up swimming, having lunch and playing at the playground.  Syd was having waaaaaay too much fun.  It was actually a very nice, spontaneous, yet relaxing day.

June 28- July 4

Monday, July 28...no picture??

I couldn't get over how blue the sky looked today!  We have been so fortunate to have such a beautiful summer so far.
Two of Bryce's favorite things right now; Matchbox cars, and Lightning McQueen.  We watch the movie any time we take a long car ride, and these cars can be found in every room of our house, in the car, in the beds, diaper bag...pretty much everywhere.
We got a surprise call from Jeff and Emily asking if we minded if they came over tonight.  Of course we were thrilled.  The boys had a blast playing together and having a little dance party.  Emily and I went to the movies to see Eclipse.
Everyone met over at Mee-Maw and Papa's house for swimming, a bbq, and family pictures while Jeff and Emily, and Uncle Tom, Raiden, and Makiah were in town.  It was a beautiful day and we had a blast swimming in the pond.

Somehow we had no plans on the 4th of July and were going to hang out at home, but since it was such a gorgeous weekend, and everyone was still in town, we drove back to Muskegon again on Sunday and did the same thing all over again!
